The best way, in our view, to describe how a Field Study may be conducted is to show a real step-by-step example of what students can do in practice.
The example shown is a Field Study conducted by a team of five high school students – three from Chicago suburban schools and two from the inner city.
The Field Study investigated what patients of the Wheaton Medical Clinic think not only about the quality of medical services provided but other aspects of patient visits to the clinic. This interest stemmed from a desire by the clinic to “stay ahead” in responding to patient needs and attitudes about what constitutes the highest quality medical care available in the community. The Field Study was later duplicated by a medical clinic in the Bloomington, Indiana area.
